Guide for Authors

Author Guidelines

The Water Resources Ecology Journal is published as a bi-quarterly. Professors, researcher and students are requested to compile and submit their articles based on the following structures:

General Principals:

1. Submitted articles should not have previously been published in other journals or conference proceedings or submitted simultaneously to another journal.
2. Articles must be in Persian and in accordance with the principles and rituals of this language.
3. The final approval of the articles for publication in the journal, after the approval of the judges, is with the editorial board of the journal.
4. The responsibility for the scientific content of published article is with the author or authors of article.
5. The journal is free to accept, reject or edit the content of articles. Received articles will not be returned.
6. Citing to content taken from other published articles are required

The submitted article should be a maximum of 9 pages and the Persian text of the article should be 12 with normal Nazanin font, the text titles should be with Nazanin Bold 12 font, the Latin text with 11 Times New Roman font and also the distance between lines 1 and the margin should be 2.5 cm on A4 paper.

Abbreviations, original words and phrases, the Persian equivalent of which is given in the text of the article, should be given in the footnotes of each page. In the case of scientific naming, the first letter of the genus name and the first letter of the species name should be typed in lower case and in italics.

Photos, tables and diagrams should have clear titles that indicate their contents. Write the titles of the tables above and the titles of the photos and diagrams below it. All numbers, units and comparisons in tables and charts must be written in Persian (if a photo or tables are taken from a source, it is necessary to mention the source) and it is necessary to send the original version of the photos and charts.

The text of the article should be prepared and sent with Word 2007 program and also the charts with Excel program.

Articles with more than one author will be considered by the journal as the consent of all authors for publication.

Essential sections of each article:

The prepared article should contain the following components:

1. Title
 The title should be concise and express the contents of the article and should not exceed 15 words. Persian title of the article with 16 Bold Nazanin font and Latin phrases with 14 Times New RomanBold font is needed.
2. Persian Abstract

The abstract should be a concise and telling collection of the article, emphasizing the description of the problem, research method and results and should not be more than 15 lines (300 words) in one paragraph, and it is also necessary to mention a small number of results in the abstract.

 3. Keywords

At least 5 and at most 8 keywords, on the subject of research and non-repetition in the title. Keywords should be presented after the abstract and in alphabetical order.

4. Introduction

Includes problem design, importance, hypothesis, review of relevant scientific sources, and summary of results from previous research and description of the purpose in a way that explains the need for research.

5. Method and Material

In this section, the materials, tools and methods of conducting research are presented to scientific authorities in a clear, accurate and documented manner. It is necessary to describe the research area briefly, along with the characteristics related to the research done. For articles that are purely promotional and review, materials and methods are optional.

6. Results

All obtained results, including tables, figures, curves and relevant scientific explanations are presented in this section. The image should be provided with high quality and Persian text. Tables should also be presented in Persian writing from the right. The titles of the figures and tables should be complete and comprehensive and contain the necessary information. The results obtained in this section have been analyzed according to the purpose of the study and the findings of other researches, and while stating the necessary justifications, comparisons should be made with previous researches. In addition, the necessary recommendations and suggestions for further studies are provided.

7. Extension recommendation

Up to one hundred words, completely related to the subject of the article, in simple and practical language. Avoid inserting tables and charts in this section.

Note for Review articles

The structure of review articles is based on the structure of the article and includes the author's profile, title, abstract, keywords, introduction, original text, extension recommendation and bibliography.

8. References

All references in the text are listed in alphabetical order in the names of the authors. The method of writing the journal is according to the Harvard method.
