Abstract

High concentrations of particles have a negative effect on fish growth and may lead to their death. Some parasites in the water are so large that they can be harvested with a normal particle filter. Therefore, they can be harvested before reaching the farm, or using a filter at the water outlet, they can be harvested before reaching the receiving water body. One of the reasons for removing particles from the incoming water is that the performance of other water treatment equipment can be negatively affected by the particles in the water. An example of this is disinfection programs and equipment that require a small amount of particles. For the water reuse system, particle harvesting is especially important in order to prevent the accumulation of particles in the system and reduce the growth of fish. The amount of particle removal depends on the design and performance of the filter. Regardless of the method chosen, larger particles are easier to pick up. Before the water flow reaches the filter unit where the particles are collected, water purification should be done as slowly as possible to prevent the particles from breaking and reducing their size. Therefore, increasing the size of the filter is necessary to collect and extract particles. In this research, different types of filtration are studied.
